‘Postcards to Places’ explores the words and images of a family archive of Scottish Postcards, sent to my Grandparents on their farm in Northern Scotland. Subverting the expectations of traditional postcards, I have pulled back the architecture, and covered up the landscape with trees and foliage, creating new private spaces between my relatives and me. To compliment the privacy of these spaces, the postcards are now titled with quotes from the original artefacts, un-contextualised sentences mimicking the unexpected nature of the images they present.
